Certified instructor in Non-Violent Communication (NVC) - Facilitator of Forum Theatre-NVC

Towards internal, social
and ecological transitions

Hello,
My name is Sophie Lewandowski

I am a certified instructor in Non-Violent Communication (NVC), and since 2016 I have been developing Forum Theatre-NVC, an approach based on the work of M. Rosenberg and A. Boal. I am also a researcher in socio-anthropology at the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD), and a specialist in the study of knowledge and communication. Inner awareness is at the heart of the social and ecological transition that I want to experience in teams and local areas.

I lived for fifteen years in Africa and Latin America: diversity and equity are for me a challenge and a source of collective wealth!

Non-Violent Communication

And Forum Theatre-NVC

How can we create abundance while respecting equity, diversity and the living world?

I see NVC and Forum Theatre as creative, non-violent approaches to professional relationships, to the natural environment and to social transformation.

For whom?

  • for organisations: businesses, public services, international agencies, non-profit organisations, networks, etc.
  • for individuals: any citizen wishing to experience more cooperation in his or her daily life and commitments. The courses aimed at the general public have no fixed fees: they are open to conscious financial contribution, so that diversity and equity can be a source of wealth.

In what areas?

Economy, environment, education and higher education, social affairs, international cooperation, culture…

From what perspectives?

Social and environmental responsibility, quality of life in the workplace, the fight against discrimination, regional consultation, national and international networks, citizen actions…

In what way?

Training courses, workshops, conferences, support…

With which approach?

NVC provides an inner anchor, and is the foundation of my approach. I also use :

  • forum theatre, which supports the levers of collective transformation
  • systemic analysis, which reinforces discernment
  • collective intelligence tools to create dynamics

Changes at what levels?

It’s about strengthening what works and changing what no longer works… at four levels: in systems (social and environmental), in groups, in inter-individual relationships, and within ourselves.

“I see NVC as a magnificent approach to connect us beyond our cultures, our opinions and our histories. Daring to assert what's important to us, while listening and looking for solutions that serve everyone. Developing a cooperative attitude in our day-to-day, in our teams and in our local initiatives. Offer ourselves moments to replenish our resources.”

Testimonials

I have no words to describe everything I've gained from the course. I particularly appreciated the work on labels, which helped to clarify my perception of power. And the one on gratitude, which is very powerful.

FatihaSocial worker, committed to equity (France, Algeria)

Very rich course: the joy of feeling like I had " boarded a boat " (...) all the tools given to explore outside the sessions... The course nourished my need to learn, to connect, to evolve, to be creative, to share, to enjoy, to gain perspective, to be open, to move and to live!

CélineFarmer, committed to the respect for all living beings (France)

I will remember a number of useful concepts, such as listening to the different parts of oneself, knowing one's relationship to the group and the groups to which one belongs, systemic empathy and the universality of human needs, the different forms of power, circles and zones of influence, etc. I will now include NVC modules in the academic training plan.

ChristineTechnical advisor, head of the pHARe anti-bullying project in schools (France)

Systemic NVC is a source of hope. Image theatre and forum theatre are powerful tools to becoming aware. The course series gives me confidence, support and joy.

ÉmilieSchool teacher, involved in issues of discrimination and inequality (France)

This course gives incredible insights into the way our society works. Today I feel like I have gained a new power to better understand what goes on around me.

Ana-MariaBiology researcher involved in citizenship and environmental education (France, Colombia)

This course cycle is completely relevant to the transitions we are facing. It's rich, nourishing in the contributions it makes, the insights it provides... and supportive. I'm leaving full of hope and desire to take the path that is emerging thanks to the training.

MarijeProject manager in a local authority, committed to the environmental and human transitions (France, The Netherlands)

These workshops are one of the few places where being Brazilian is neither folklore nor a disability, but a real asset. I can make contributions and we can inspire each other.
