Nonviolence and Transitions:
A Network and a Game of Mutual Support
THE GAME: EDA! Listen, Discern, Act.
What’s it for?
Are you facing a personal or collective problem?
Ask two people—or more—to help you!
Together, you’ll engage in a case study using the philosophy of nonviolence.
EDA! helps you:
- overcome your personal or collective problem
- build interpersonal solidarity, within a group, and across a network
How does it work?
It’s a card game featuring:
- input and support from other players
- practical exercises
- a future action plan
Where did it come from?
The EDA! game was created by Sophie Lewandowski based on four approaches:
- Nonviolent Communication
- Co-development (CODEV)
- Systemic analysis
- Collective intelligence and nonviolent action
Where can you find players?
There are several levels of play:
- “Discovery”: no training required—you can play with any friends or colleagues
- “Exploration”: with people trained in Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
- “Expedition”: with people trained in systemic NVC—particularly the Nonviolence and Transitions network, the game’s incubator.
Where can I get training for the game?
In the NVC curriculum on internal, social, and ecological transitions (click the button on my training page).
